About t3land

t3land is the TYPO3 address of aceArt GmbH in Stuttgart. A brand of its own for a subject with enough depth to deserve one.

What we do

We build and look after TYPO3 installations. That runs from the sitepackage for a new site through taking over an installation that has grown over years to ongoing care with updates and security work.

What we do not do: sites where TYPO3 is obviously the wrong tool. If it turns out in conversation that a simpler system fits better, we say so. A project that starts on the wrong foundation turns unpleasant for everyone involved.

Who stands behind it

t3land is operated by aceArt GmbH, based in Stuttgart. Alongside TYPO3 we work there on custom software, web applications and search visibility. Some projects touch several of those areas at once, and that is an advantage: an interface to a merchandise management system is not a TYPO3 question, but it still has to arrive in TYPO3.

Member of the TYPO3 Association

aceArt GmbH is a Silver Member of the TYPO3 Association, the society behind TYPO3.

What that means, and what it does not: the membership is a form of funding. Part of the fee goes into the development of the system, into the security work and into the infrastructure every TYPO3 installation depends on. Anyone who uses TYPO3 professionally gives something back to the project they make a living from.

It is expressly not an examination of technical ability. We mention it because it says something about our stance towards the system, not because it stands in for a qualification. What you should actually judge an agency by is set out in the guide Choosing a TYPO3 agency.

How we work

Development happens in Git, and changes become visible on a separate environment before they go live. Configuration sits in files rather than in the database, so it stays traceable when something was changed and why.

That sounds obvious and in practice it is not. A sizeable share of the installations we take over cannot be set up reproducibly at first, because essential settings exist only inside the running system.

Handover as a principle

We build projects so they could be handed to somebody else. Code in a repository you have access to. A documented deployment route. Configuration in files. No dependence on knowledge that only sits with us.

That is not at odds with our own business interest. It is the basis on which working together stays voluntary.

Common questions

Why a separate brand rather than a subpage?

Because TYPO3 is a field of its own, with its own vocabulary, its own lifecycle and its own questions. People searching for it are rarely looking for an agency that does everything.

On an address of its own the subject can be treated at the depth it needs, without disappearing between other services. The work itself is done by the same people.

Do you work outside your region?

Yes. TYPO3 projects run largely remotely anyway: development in Git, discussion over video calls, preview on a separate environment.

For kick-off meetings, workshops and training we come to you when that helps. In Stuttgart that is straightforward; for Munich and the other parts of southern Germany it is a question of scheduling.
