The principle: no third-party services
This website loads nothing from other people’s servers. Fonts, graphics, stylesheets and scripts all sit on our own server and nowhere else.
There is a practical reason for that. Loading a file from someone else’s server would send your IP address there. Since that does not happen here, your data never leaves our server.
We also use:
- no analytics or tracking services
- no advertising or retargeting tools
- no embedded maps, videos or social media elements
- no cookies that would require consent
That is why there is no cookie banner on this site. There is nothing to consent to.
Visiting the site
When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data to our server, which stores it in a log file:
- the address requested
- the date and time of access
- the amount of data transferred and the status code
- the referring page, if it is transmitted
- browser and operating system identification
- IP address
This processing is technically required to run the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in delivering the page, keeping the system secure and investigating faults.
The logs are deleted automatically after a short period unless they are needed to investigate a specific incident. They are not combined with other data.
Contact form and email
If you contact us through the form or by email, we process the details you provide in order to handle your enquiry. Through the form these are your name, email address, the subject you chose and the text of your message.
We also log the IP address at the moment you send the form. That serves to fend off automated submissions. For the same reason the form contains a field that is invisible to you and a simple arithmetic question; both only evaluate whether a program or a person sent the message.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry is aimed at a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
We keep the details until the enquiry has been dealt with. Where statutory retention obligations apply, for instance under commercial or tax law, those periods govern.
Hosting
The website runs with a service provider in Germany. That provider processes the log data described above on our behalf; the processing is governed by a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.
Encryption
The website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection. You can recognise this by the padlock symbol in your browser’s address bar.
Your rights
You have the right to information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR), to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you have the right to object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

Right to complain
You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
Changes
We adjust this policy when the processing changes, for example because a new feature is added. The version available on this page is the one that applies.
